Scottish Welfare Fund

Arrangements are in place to ensure the provision of the Scottish Welfare fund service can continue during this difficult time. Calls can be made to 0141 577 3475.

You can apply to the Scottish Welfare Fund if you're on a low income and need help with things like food or heating costs. Food


Include Me 2 Club Community Meals Project

If you are shielding, at high risk, vulnerable, unwell or unable to get food to your table you may be able to get support from Include Me2 Club’s community meals project. The service provides a freshly prepared meal delivered to your door to help support your situation or aid recovery. Call 07407 187 205 or email [email protected]. Scottish Government Assistance

If you have received a letter from the Chef Medical Officer (CMO) advising that you should shield for 12 weeks you should text the number on the letter to register. If you require a weekly food parcel free of charge text the number with the work 1BOX (2Box if there are two adults), if you would like to arrange priority supermarket delivery text the number with 1shop. If you are unable to text the number but would like to register for these services contact the Money Advice and Rights Team on 0141 577 8420 and we can register you.

If you haven't received a letter from the CMO but are struggling to get food because you are self-isolating, experiencing financial problems due to a drop in income or because your children are at home call MART on 0141 577 8420 to discuss your needs and we can offer you an assessment and refer you to the East Renfrewshire Humanitarian Food hub or food bank.

If you can afford to pay for your shopping but can't get out to the supermarket our partners at Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire can offer a shopping service. You can call them on 0141 876 9555.

Redundancy Support

Support for employers impacted by COVID-19

The Scottish Government have established a helpline as a first point of contact for employers. The helpline number is 0300 303 0660 and is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire Council and Health & Social Care Partnership are operating a Community Hub in response to COVID-19. Family First

Family First is a free, confidential advice and information resource in East Renfrewshire.

The aim is to provide support by working in partnership with families.

We can help and enable you to access local services professional and voluntary, ensuring the children get the best possible start in life.

We understand that families can run into difficulties, emotionally, financially or even physically that may prevent us doing the simplest of things.

Whatever you'd like to speak about, our team can offer support and advice on issues surrounding school, health, home, money, parenting, additional support needs (with our without diagnosis) and confidence building.

Eligibility criteria

You can access Family First if you:

  • Have a family with children aged 0-11 years.
  • Live in the East Renfrewshire area.
  • Have no current social work involvement.
  • Need a little bit of help.
